The snubbed handshake is gradually becoming a known activity in football, with the likes of Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra, John Terry and Anton Ferdinand, Samir Nasri and William Gallas, Terry
(again) and Wayne Bridge, and now Pep Guardiola and Cristiano Ronaldo the latest to join the long queue.
Old club rivalry is believed to be the main reason behind the latest snub as tension between Real Madrid and Barcelona is well known by both section of fans and the general public.
Pep currently on a sabbatical leave from football attended the award gala as a nominee for best coach of the year and C Ronaldo as footballer of the year which he lost out to the magical Messi.
When C Ronaldo approached Guardiola, the spaniard stared for a second before turning away, leaving the Portuguese with a bemused look which told the whole story.
